Interface ELM
OBDuCAN software
Compatible OBD I-II & eOBD, it allows:
- check the engine working,
- track down the pollution level in order to ensure a minimal energy consumption.
- search for DTC (Default Trouble Codes) and erase them. DTC trigger the MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp) warning light.
- etc.
Vehicle connection - setup
Plug the ELM® compatible box in the vehicle J1962 socket. You will find this socket inside the car arround the wheel in a radius of one meter.
Turn the key in the ignition. All the dashboard indicators switch on. This action turns on the box.
Click the preference icon and select the ELM® interface.
In the under menu «Communication port», select the COM port wich corresponds to the busy ELM® box.
Close the dialog boxes. The setup is now saved for all future use.
Vehicle connection - diagnosis
Start the vehicle to activate the ECU (Engine Control Unit).
Click the «Connect to OBD interface» icon.
OBDuCAN will search for the vehicle ECU protocol. The firt time it might take arround 10 seconds.
The counters available on the vehicle switch on, the state bar indicates the protocol and the connection state.
